Heavy Rotation Records - The Right Stuff

I do some freelance for Heavy Rotation Records, a student-run music label at the Berklee College of Music. Just recently finished this flyer for them promoting a show that's happening in 2 weeks. I'm pretty happy with how it came out. I also realized, after the fact, that I subconsciously channeled New Kids on the Block with the way I did the elongated the "N" and the "D."

Half-Frame

Scott Toepfer, who I worked with on the shoot in Portland, recently sent the picture above that he took of me with his half-frame camera. What a great tool for capturing glimpses of everyday life, I just might have to get one for myself.

Jens Lekman

These rainy days have me listening to Jens Lekman's, Oh You're So Silent Jens. I love this album cover and the melodies make me want to take piano lessons again. His lyrics are basic yet so descriptive...I particularly like the line in Sky Phenomenon where he sings "It's like someone spilled a beer all over the atmosphere." Another of my faves on this album is the defeatist's anthem, Black Cab.

back!

Came back from Portland yesterday after shooting for about 5 days. I had so much fun with our photographers Jeremy & Claire of Day 19 and their crew. It was my first shoot so I found it to be a whirlwind of excitement and challenges. What a surreal experience, I learned so much and was so lucky to be part of it all.

Here's some pictures I took that show behind the scenes moments, J+C did a great post of the shoot on the Day 19 blog as well. The real deal stuff has to be saved for when the campaign starts circulating this summer.

sneaking peeks.

I got to tag along scouting locations for a shoot i'm working on in Portland. I saw so many amazing places in about a span of 6 hours; there's so many quirky creatives out here who make incredible living spaces for themselves. The picture above was taken standing on the edge of someone's pool.

I'll try to post more as the shoot goes into production, though I can't reveal too much for obvious reasons.

BOS -> PDX

I'm in Portland, Oregon for a few days and figured it was very fitting to have my blog commence with this. I had a rather pleasant flight from Boston to Portland and forgot how beautiful this part of the US was. It's been a year since I first visited here with one of my best buddies, Paola.

This picture was taken right before the plane got to Oregon, just as the sun was setting. I love the stripes on the wing of the Alaska Airlines plane. Welcome to The Self-Help Section.
